Yad Vashem – Remember
Stolen name replaced by number,
Savaged soul and broken heart.
Hell, a people to encumber.Blind eyes outside in darkness.
Dead souls dismissed the unthinkable.
Stolen name replaced by number.Rising from the ashes,
Pledging nevermore.
Hell, a people to encumber.Yad VaShem, the vault of memory,
Yad VaShem, the ground of tears.
Stolen name replaced by number.Shoah: families, children.
Here named, remembered, mourned.
Hell, a people to encumber.Faces pictured in the silence.
Tears cried forevermore.

Human minds are so easily diverted… how easily we forget! It is saddening when we look at it that way…
Peace be with the ones that have had to suffer, and that have had to live and die thru’ Hell… I hope they come out stronger than ever!! Their strength and resolve shall not go forgotten..

Beautifully written…. I too was thinking of Japan and Haiti at first, but then Darfur and Rowanda (just to name two), every place ravaged by unfathomable suffering… but mostly the way people forget they are people….natural disasters are horrific, but when humans forget their humanity, that is the greatest tragedy of all.

I couldn’t help thinking about the people of Japan as I read this. I like the image of the vault of memory.
